Lending

Members may borrow up to a maximum of a crate of resources (or equivalent) per visit. When members borrow resources, they will agree on the date to return them, usually allowing a loan period of 6 weeks. All items must be returned in good condition and complete and by the due date agreed above.

However, we understand that it is not always possible. Users should not be anxious about returning overdue, lost or broken resources. We encourage users to contact STAR and let us know if they have any problems returning the resources. STAR aims to give users every opportunity to return resources and aims to work in partnership with its members.

STAR will charge members for damage to resources beyond “fair wear and tear” and lost resources at current replacement value. Resources not returned within 1 month of their due date will incur a fine of £1.25 per crate of resources per week overdue. Failure to return resources within 6 months of their due date will result in the termination of STAR membership. STAR will take action to recover resources.
